So far the Welsh section holds one crossing, and an unusual one to begin with: the day trips out of Porth Meudwy to Enlli, off the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. Nothing about it runs to the clock. A twelve-seat catamaran goes out from a National Trust cove by Aberdaron when the weather is good enough, you book by ringing the boatman, and on the morning a traffic-light colour on the operator's website says whether your trip is on.
Two details are particular to Enlli. The island belongs to a charity, the Bardsey Island Trust, which since 2026 takes its own £7.50 landing fee at the Cafn, apart from whatever the boat costs. And both main websites are bilingual, which is more than a courtesy here: the Welsh and English versions of the boatman's notes give different months for the additional 12:30 sailing, run only when the weather is exceptionally good.
